Highlands Therapy & Sports Center offers a broad range of therapy services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, industrial rehabilitation and aquatic therapy and sports medicine.
Highlands Therapy & Sports Center partners with your physician to promote the healing process and work toward regaining functional abilities lost due to injury or disease. Therapy is a team approach, with the patient as the most important team member. Our patients are an active participant in setting therapy goals and establishing treatment programs, with direction from Highlands Medical Center Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists.
Highlands Therapy & Sports Center is also a comprehensive sports medicine provider for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Highlands Therapy & Sports Center provides physical therapy, educational seminars, pre-season physicals, Certified Athletic Trainers for high school games and practices, and Friday Night Injury Clinics during football season. In the event of an injury our trained professional will assess the athlete’s needs and set up an individualized conditioning program that includes strength training, interval training and running techniques.
We currently offer Therapy Services in multiple settings at Highlands Therapy & Sports Center, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities and home health.

Physical Therapy

Occupational Therapy
- Hand, shoulder, elbow and wrist.
- Customized splinting and orthopedic appliances

- Industrial medicine, work conditioning, functional capacity evaluations, job demand analysis, fitness for duty testing, pre-job screenings
- On-site home, job assessment with adaptations and recommendations
- Activities of daily living skills, home management assessment and training
- Adaptive equipment assessment and training
- Neurological/neuromuscular

- Sensory integration

Speech Therapy
- Speech, language and communication
- Swallowing, oral function
- Modified barium swallowing studies
- Expressive, receptive aphasia assessment and training. Aphasia is a defect or loss of ability to speak or write, loss of ability to understand spoken or written language, due to injury or disease of the brain centers.
- Speech generating device assessment and training
- Voice prosthetic assessment and training
- Augmentative communication assessment and training
- Cognitive development training
- Reading and phonological awareness intervention
- Articulation disorder program for children with developmental delays
- Language program for children with developmental delays
- VitalStim therapy for patients experiencing swallowing difficulties after recovering from strokes or head and neck cancer.

Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday 7:00 a.m. to noon.
