News Release Cumberland Health & Rehab to Host Lights of Love Celebration December 8, 2009 Cumberland Health and Rehab hosting Lights of Love community fundraiser
On Dec. 15 at Cumberland Health and Rehab in Bridgeport, the back lawn will glow with a Lights of Love tree funded by donations from the community. A ceremony, open to the public, will begin at 5 p.m.
“All funds raised through Cumberland’s Lights of Love project will go toward the purchase of a resident lift for the facility’s patients,” said Robin Bradford, Chief Administrator.
Lights for the tree can be purchased with a $5 minimum donation per light.
Leading up to the tree lighting, the ceremony will feature holiday music and a visit from Santa. Prior to the lighting of the tree, all names of those honored or memorialized will be read.
“We see this first Lights of Love event at Cumberland as the beginning of a community tradition, where we can celebrate the lives of those who mean so much to us,” said Bryant Pitchford, of Highlands Foundation.
