Highlands Health & Rehab - Success Stories
"A Piece of Italian Pie" Therapy of a Different Kind
Someone once said "you can't have your cake and eat it too". Or was it pie or maybe pizza pie? Well, at Highlands Health & Rehab, our residents and staff will beg to differ with you. As part of a continuous effort to engage residents and their families to spend time together and do things that they would "normally do" any other time, Highlands Health & Rehab recently had a "Dine- In" catered by none other than Steve from Stevarinos.
The Highlands Health & Rehab Homeowner's Association was the mastermind behind this great idea. The Homeowner's Association is a group of residents at Highlands Health & Rehab, that meet once a month to discuss things they would like to do and any needed changes or improvements to their "home" at Highlands. Of course after the word got out and residents began to talk, it was obvious that Stevarinos was the place of choice for these loyal customers to have their dine-in experience.
Activities Director, Amanda O'Connor began making plans and taking orders. The tables in the outdoor dining area were covered with checkered tablecloths and a centerpiece to set the scene as the lunch bunch began to pour in. Residents gathered at their tables to socialize, while being served and catered to, enjoying each others company and catching up on the latest news and happenings.
We would like to thank Steve Flynn, owner of Stevarinos, for making this a special day for our residents and helping us, help them. Steve was more than happy to accommodate all our requests and was wonderful to work with. As always, the service was outstanding and the food was out of this world.
