Cumberland Celebrates Success
Mrs. Jewell Eileen Robbins has had more than her share of ups and downs in recent months, but she hasn't let that keep her down. She is definitely on the up and up with the Rehab To Home Programs at both Highlands Health & Rehab in Scottsboro as well as Cumberland Health & Rehab in Bridgeport.
Mrs. Robbins had knee replacement in December 2007, and had chosen to utilize Highlands Health & Rehab in Scottsboro since she had heard so many good things about them and they were so close to her home and family. "Scottsboro was so good to me. They just took me in and helped me get back on my feet. They were so sweet and made sure that I was ready to return home" said Robbins.
Recently in May 2010, Mrs. Robbins suffered from a hip fracture that required more rehabilitative services after her surgery. "I requested to go back to Highlands in Scottsboro because they always went out of there way to help me and treated me like family, but they didn't have a bed available." After much discussion with her family and recommendations from the staff at Highlands Health & Rehab, she made the decision to admit for her therapy at their sister facility in Bridgeport, Cumberland Health & Rehab. "This bunch is the best bunch of people you'll ever find" said Robbins "I would have never known about Cumberland if Highlands had been able to take me in this time. My stay at Cumberland was longer than the one at Highlands, but I was in worse shape and it was well worth it. The whole stay has been a wonderful experience and I would recommend both facilities to anyone I know."
Mrs. Robbins received both Physical and Occupational Therapy during her recent stay for strengthening and conditioning to enable her to return to her normal activities of daily living upon returning to her home. The staff at Cumberland Health & Rehab would like to wish her the best and will miss her greatly.
Congratulations Mrs. Robbins on your successful rehab to home stay and thank you for allowing us at Cumberland Health & Rehab to be a small part of that success.
Distance not an issue for Della Johnson from Ider, Alabama
Ms. Della Johnson, of Ider, AL, was recently faced with making an important decision, that would affect her road to recovery, after suffering a hip fracture in April of this year. Ms. Johnson has lived alone since her husband passed away in 1983. Facing going home alone, after her surgery, would have been difficult for her. Della chose Cumberland Health & Rehab, in Bridgeport, for her rehabilitative services. "It really wasn't a hard decision to make this time. This was my second stay with Cumberland. They were recommended to me in 2008 when I was here the first time" Johnson said. "In 2008, it was a little harder to decide, but I went with the recommendation of someone I trusted. Most people don't know that this place exists, and it is so much nicer and cleaner than most other places and the people that work here are so good to you. I just love the people in therapy. Michael and Misty have worked so hard with me to help my leg get better. I would recommend Cumberland to everyone I know" said Johnson.
Ms. Johnson received both Physical and Occupational Therapy during her stay at Cumberland. She was able to successfully return home on June 30th. The staff at Cumberland Health & Rehab would like to wish her the best. Ms. Johnson will soon be turning 93 years young on August 25th. Happy Birthday Della, from all your friends at Cumberland!
